Defensible examinations, at every stage
Specification tables and test blueprints
We design the test blueprint with you: targeted competencies, weightings, taxonomic levels, item formats. The resulting specification table guides item authoring, ensures full coverage of the domain and integrates directly into Mezur, where it structures the item bank.
Item analysis
After each administration, we analyze how items behave: difficulty, discrimination, performance of answer choices. Analyses rely on classical test theory and, when sample sizes allow, on item response theory. Weak items are identified, documented and returned to the authoring process.
Standard setting
A passing score is not decreed: it is established. We facilitate recognized standard-setting procedures — Angoff, bookmark, contrasting groups — with your content experts, and we document every step so the decision can be defended before your governing bodies and in the event of a challenge.
Reliability and validity studies
We measure the consistency of your examinations and assemble the validity evidence that supports the interpretation of results: internal consistency, standard error of measurement, internal structure, relationships with external criteria. Everything is recorded in clear reports, written for decision-makers as much as for expert committees.
Scoring quality assurance
For constructed responses, the value of the result depends on the consistency of the scorers. We put in place inter-rater agreement indicators, control papers and recalibration procedures, connected directly to Mezur's scoring data, so you can intervene during scoring rather than after.
Comparability of language versions
An examination offered in several languages must measure the same thing in each. We oversee the translation and adaptation of items, then verify their equivalence through differential item functioning analysis, so that the language of administration neither advantages nor penalizes any candidate.
